‘Buildings’ are one-of-one unique clay objects that represent my fascination and love for urban scenery, inspired by the city of Berlin and the grunge characteristics of its apartment buildings.
The Buildings are handmade by assembling hand-rolled stone-ware clay slabs, precisely cutting out the windows before taking them into two firing stages of 950°C and 1220°C.
While the Buildings are unique in their nature of being handmade without relying on any template or moulds, each edition is distinctive in its choice of glazing techniques and the emotions it carries throughout the making process.
The Smoky edition is the second release of the Buildings, experimenting with spray glazing; applying different glazes in different layers to resemble the depth and intertwining emotions that go through the making.
